Why I always buy cut flowers

I sincerely wanted to take this poll, mainly because polls are fun, but couldn't participate. For me this is one of those "When are you going to stop beating your wife?" situations.

I really, really love buying flowers at all times. Even when the garden is producing cut flowers (never enough) I usually find myself supplementing them, particularly for special occasions.

But there doesn't have to be an occasion. Here it is, an ordinary Monday, and I'm looking across the room at a vase of white roses and some ornamental berries, while in other rooms there are a variety of arrangements. When the bulbs get going, I'll have less room, but I actually look forward to winter for one reason—there is every excuse to buy flowers. Not that I need any.

I really hate those nasty "market bouquets" they peddle at my local grocery store. They're cheap enough, and convenient enough, but the flowers are way too blah to entice me. A couple of carnations, some odd-colored daisies, baby's breath or a leathery fern, and of course the ubiquitous alstromeira.

If I'm plunking down my money I want something pretty!

I saw that you made reference to the Garden Walk book. I am not sure what you have to do with it but I preordered mine and got it this week and was very disappointed to see it is a paperback. It looks like a hard back on their website. I paid twenty five dollars for it and expected to get a hardback!

There are hardcovers but they are a limited edition and would cost more. I think the pricing is reasonable--paper and printing cost a lot these days.

And the share of profits that go to the Walk will support community gardens and other good works.

Otherwise, i am sorry you are disappointed.

I bought a flower arrangement from a different website a few days agp. These flowers are priced from as low as $40. I gave it to my girlfriend and she was like OMG! ITS SOO PRETTY! There are inexpensive flower arrangement but they are pretty as hell. You should really try this website before looking at anyrthng else. If you want to visit that website click or paste here.
